Questions, problems, and ideas are all welcome.

Contact

Email support@jotfrog.com. One person makes JotFrog and reads every message. In the TestFlight beta you can also send feedback from TestFlight.

Please include your Mac's macOS version, the JotFrog version (JotFrog ▸ About JotFrog), and, for anything to do with the pen, the Pen Check block described below.

Check your pen first

Most pen problems come from the tablet driver's setup, not from the tablet or JotFrog. Open JotFrog ▸ Settings ▸ Pen ▸ Pen Check… and use the pen on its surface for a few seconds. It shows what the driver reports (pressure, tilt, hover, the buttons, and the eraser) and names the likely cause when something is wrong.

To report a problem, click Copy Diagnostics in Pen Check and paste the block into your email. It holds your tablet's model and what it reports, never what you wrote and never the pen's serial number.

Every tablet

  1. Install the driver from the maker's website (Wacom, Huion, or XP-Pen), not from a disc or a download that came with the tablet. Those are often several versions old.
  2. Keep only one tablet driver installed. Drivers from two makers, or two versions from one maker, fight over the pen.
  3. Restart the Mac after installing or updating a driver.
  4. In System Settings ▸ Privacy & Security, allow the driver everything it asks for, including Accessibility and Input Monitoring. Without them the pen can move the pointer but cannot draw or send pressure.
  5. In the driver's own settings, map the tablet to the display JotFrog is on.

The full guide for each maker, covering a pen that only moves the pointer, pressure that never changes, and a driver JotFrog cannot find, is in the app under Help ▸ Pen Tablet Drivers…

Your notes

Your notes are kept on your Mac, and Time Machine backs them up. JotFrog also keeps a daily snapshot for the last seven days. To restore one, go to Settings ▸ Backups ▸ Restore from Backup…. To also keep copies off your Mac, turn on Also back up to a folder and choose a folder, such as one in iCloud Drive.

Subscription

Apple handles the subscription through the App Store. To change or cancel it, open your App Store subscriptions. For refunds, go to reportaproblem.apple.com. Apple decides refunds, and we cannot issue them.

Privacy

JotFrog never sends your notes anywhere. The privacy policy lists everything it does send, and only with your consent.
